The construction utilized the front portion of the "T" cross section French Gras Model 1874 Bayonets which were very available during WW1
which we unfortunately have not been able to identify
The sweatband is complete with minor cracking in the leather
The leather liner and brass ringed on leather chin scales are twentieth century replacements
